Adult Education This year will bring many opportunities to increase your Jewish knowledge. Our tradition tells us that without the study of Torah, we are like fish without water. Please join us often for enrichment and Jewish fulfillment. An exciting and provocative Adult Education speaking program is planned for year 5767. Read all about "Fabulous Fridays at 7:30!" Did you miss out on becoming a Bar or Bat Mitzvah as a child? Are you looking for a deeply meaningful Jewish experience that will help you feel more comfortable during prayer services? Would you like to explore the history and philosophy of Judaism? Would you like to meet the challenge and read from the Torah? Yes? Then join our Adult B'nai Mitzvah class. Classes are forming on a cyclical basis. Even if you're not sure you want to actually become a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, but you would like to study, feel free to join. Basic Judaism and Beginning Hebrew classes are another opportunity for congregants and their spouses. These classes are for individuals who want to learn about basic Jewish holiday and life-cycle observances. The Beginning Hebrew class will teach participants how to phonetically read Hebrew. Our Interfaith Discussion Group is for interfaith couples who desire an opportunity to talk about the many issues that arise for themselves and their children. This class is limited to 7 couples. Please email or speak with with Rabbi Cohen for more details. Adult Torah Study is an ongoing part of our adult education experience. Each Tuesday at noon, join Rabbi Cohen and others as we explore the meaning of Torah portions with the aid of rabbinic commentary. Bring your lunch and come to the library for this very vibrant and very adult look at the Torah. Our newly founded Speakers Series will add new excitement to Friday night services throughout the year. Plan to join us for services and be enlightened by area professors and visiting scholars on a variety of Jewish topics. Watch your bulletin or check the Temple Calendar for a description of speakers, topics, and dates. Join us for each session or for only selected sessions that interest you the most. Hopefully, in this schedule there will be something for everyone. Please take advantage of these opportunities and make this year one of higher learning and increased Jewish awareness. DON'T DELAY...LEARN SOME TORAH TODAY!
