Temple Emanuel House Committee Update

HOUSE COMMITTEE UPDATE DECEMBER 15, 2005

Temple House Committee - 2005
As we watch this year of 2005 quickly become history, there are many things that should be said about it. The House Committee faced numerous challenges; some planned, some expected, and some unexpected. This is the nature of our House Committee, and our goal is always to handle the business of keeping our Temple beautiful, functional & safe. We try to ensure that our Temple is a warm and wonderful place for each and every one of us to gather with our friends and loved ones, observe our faith, worship God and love the Torah and its timeless teachings. Temple Emanuel is a place to grow, learn, embrace & deepen our spirituality and humanity. Thank you to everyone who helped the House Committee this year with our many projects and undertakings. Your time, efforts and generosity were a vital help to making and keeping our wonderful Temple Home.

Temple House Committee - 2006
In 2006, the Temple House Committee will have a number of projects we need to address. These cover a wide range of tasks; including inside functionality and beautification enhancements and outside building and grounds maintenance, as well as exterior functionality and beautification enhancements. We will be addressing improvements for handicapped accessibility, enhancing security features, improving play area function, etc. As always, your convenience, comfort and safety will be our main focus as we endeavor to make our Temple the best it can be!

A Call to Our Community!
The House Committee is not one of the more "glamorous" parts of the life of Temple Emanuel, yet it is one of the most important components of its existence. Most of what we do goes unseen by the majority, although if we did not do it, it would be seen by everyone! The House Committee strongly supports the Brotherhood & Sisterhood of Temple Emanuel and it is with the help of those two organizations that we are able to do a great deal of what we do. The House Committee strives to keep expenses down by calling on the Brotherhood & Sisterhood whenever we need volunteers or support with Temple projects. Please join or at least support either of these two great organizations. It is one of the best ways to help the House Committee because of all the volunteers and support the Brotherhood & Sisterhood provide for the House Committee. As it has been and always will be, the eyes of the congregation are vital to the operation and function of the Temple. The House Committee cannot see or think of everything the Temple needs. In early 2006 the House Committee will be installing a "Suggestions, Comments, Needs Attention" box visible just to the left as you enter the Main Office. This will be the best way to communicate with the House Committee should you know of something needed, if you see something that needs attention, or you can suggest a better way for us to do something. We encourage everyone to use this box in order to make our Temple a better place for all who use and enjoy it! Please include your name and number so we can contact you for more information or details regarding your input. As in many aspects of the Temple and the Jewish Community, "Together, we can do great things"

~Shalom!
