Temple/web changes

  • An exciting and provocative Adult Education speaking program is planned for year 5767. Read all about "Fabulous Fridays at 7:30!"

  • A new Events page has been added (see link above). Contact the Office if you have an event you feel is appropriate for the Temple Emanuel web site. The Events page has a link available on this "What's New" page, and on the "Temple Calendar" page. The Fundraising committee has updated info: click here to read.

  • A long-needed separate page link is being provided for the Sisterhood, Brotherhood, and the operating committees of our congregation on the left menu bar. This page will provide an explanation of what the groups do, and provide links to updated information pages as they are provided by those groups.

  • The site now has URJ-provided dynamic content on many pages. This content is provided by and updated regularly by the URJ. Now, when you come to the Temple web site, there will be new, timely articles to read, and resources to refer to. Check them out! Here are the new items and where they are found:

    • World News for Jews (updated weekly), on the Home page

    • B'nei Mitzvah resources (updated irregularly), on the Youth Education page. Also on the Youth Education page is a "Youth and Family" feature (updated monthly)

    • "What is Reform" (updated irregularly), on the Newcomer's page

    • Torah commentary (updated weekly), on the Year of the Torah page

    • Shabbat Resources (updated weekly), on the Calendar page. This includes Shabbat Table Talk: guidelines for discussing the weekly Torah portion with children; PDF of Celebrate Shabbat at Home (blessings for family, candles, wine and challah); links to recommended URJ Press publications

    • Significant Jewish Books (updated quarterly), on the Adult Education page

    • Holiday Resources (updated as holidays approach), on the Jewish Holidays section (further down on this page, but linked by a menu item on the left)

    • Religious Action Center News (updated twice monthly), on the Social Action page

  • Our Temple has formed a Brotherhood! If you are of the male persuasion and a Temple Member, please use the contact form on this web site to ask for more information. The link to the Brotherhood web page is on the Newcomer's page (see link at left).

  • There is a new Kroger Bucks program, a reusable card that you order once from the Temple office, and you re-load with money whenever you like at the Kroger Customer Service desk. You must order the reusable card from the Temple Office in order for the Temple to receive 5% every time you re-load the card! This is a painless and more convenient way to help the Temple get much-needed funds, without your spending a dime more than you normally would for shopping you already do! Get your reusable card from the Office NOW! That's an order!

  • The Social Action page has been updated with the Annual Food Drive results to date, as well as a link to the Kroger Bucks card page.

  • A new, regular attendee slot has opened up on our crack "RAM House Cooking Crew". If you can come cook with us (and man, do we cook!) on the 2nd Sunday of each month (that's once a month from 9am-Noonish), please, PLEASE use the Contact page to email the Web Manager. You don't have to be a great cook, and you don't have to sing, and we have serious fun. It is a great way to stay connected to the world. Give it a try and see how you like it!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Our Chailites need sopranos and altos! If you can carry a tune (even better if you read music), PLEASE contact Andy Friedman or Mim Young.
