Unless otherwise noted, all Thursday rehearsals begin at 7pm. Please be ready to begin at that time in order that we can end shortly after 8:30. If you have child care issues, please contact the Temple office (342-3378). Remember, rehearsals are closed to children. Please bring a pencil with eraser to rehearsals. If you have a battery powered tape recorder, you are encouraged to bring it. If you miss a rehearsal you must call someone from your section to catch up on what progressed. If you are not sure as to a cancellation due to weather please call the Temple office at 342-3378 or call Andy at home/work.
Service and Special Events Schedule with Rehearsal Exceptions
IMPORTANT: Please consult the Bulletin for service times. For services starting at 7:30pm, I'm leaving it up to you to warm up in the car on your way over. (We really don't have a choice.) I will try to get there by 7:00 but I can't guarantee it. If services begin at 8pm, we will meet in the choir room at 7:15pm.
Shabbat Service Instructions: We will meet in the music room 45 minutes prior to service time. Unless otherwise noted, wear white top, black bottom. Opening and closing songs are likely to change.
Assuming there will be cancellations due to weather, we'll continue with rehearsals through January and cancel when the weather threatens. IF THE CITY/COUNTY OF ROANOKE SCHOOLS CLOSE, REHEARSAL IS AUTOMATICALLY CANCELLED.
First of all, we're rehearsing every Thursday night at 7:15pm, right up to the High Holy Days. Starting 8/23 YOU MUST REGULARLY ATTEND REHEARSALS if you want to sing for High Holy Days.
We're singing both of the Rosh Hashanah services and the Kol Nidre service. We're not singing on Yom Kippur day.
So the High Holy Days performance times are as follows (all pm unless noted):
August 23 - rehearsal
August 30 - rehearsal
September 6 - rehearsal
September 12 - Erev Rosh Hashana
September 13 - Rosh Hashana morning
September 20 - possible rehearsal for Yom Kippur
September 21 - Kol Nidre service
October 11 - rehearsal
October 12 - Sing Sabbath service
